Keep an eye on insects, trap by trap

Traps and check points on the field map, with catches, the crop thresholds and, where a Region publishes the rule, the right moment from degree-days.

Insect monitoring works when it is regular and the numbers are read against a threshold straight away. In Agronix every trap sits on its field, with the insect to follow and the crop sheet: catches are logged from the phone, the threshold is checked automatically and the alert arrives when it is time to act.

Traps

Every trap in its place

Choose the field, the insect and the trap type: pheromone, colour, food, soil pot trap for larvae, or visual check. The position comes from the phone in the field or the centre of the plot, and all traps appear in a list and on the map.

  • Five trap types and visual checks
  • Position from the phone's GPS
  • How many traps the area needs

Catches and thresholds

The threshold checks itself

At each check you log the date and the number of insects, with the photo of the trap taken on the phone. For western corn rootworm, codling moth and wireworms Agronix compares catches with the published numeric threshold and flags it in the alerts when it is exceeded; for other insects it shows the crop's action criterion.

  • Catches with the trap photo
  • Thresholds for corn rootworm, codling moth and wireworms
  • Alert when the threshold is exceeded

Degree-days

The right moment from the field's weather

For codling moth, the sum of temperatures from 1 January shows the flight stages and the treatment window, with the rule of the nearest Region; for carrot fly the count starts from the significant catch. Temperatures are those measured and forecast at the field, with the dates each stage is expected.

  • Codling moth and carrot fly
  • Measured and forecast temperatures
  • Stages reached and expected
